A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words

We have an wonderful group of Seniors who have been working hard to create a mural. It is a long process so stay tuned.

First we started by interviewing staff and students to see what our school community wanted to see in our 2nd mural. We had a great deal of information provided. We compiled our "data" and have come up with a great idea to present our images. Above are some pictures of our work in progress. Keep up the hardwork Seniors!!

Creating Shade and Form

In this lesson, students in Art 1 & 2 used drawing pencils such as graphite and charcoal to create gradient shade and different shapes and forms. Shade and Form helps a 2D picture appear to be 3D. This is a difficult skill and our classes did a super job.

Taking a Road Trip

Students were asked to think of places that they have visited or at least always wanted to. By recalling images they created works of art based on that place. As a challenge, they had to include one portion of a map representing their selected place. A great variety of artwork came from this project.
