Living Art

Art 3 & 4 are in the process of making a painting that they will also perform. Taken from the idea of street artists, students will study one artist and their style, recreate a masterpiece from that artist, and finally they become the stars, or the people, in the painting. This year, the Junior and Senior artists will feature the work of Grant Wood, American Gothic. Look for more information to come, and check our blog often as our project develops.

Pumpkin Still Life by Art 1 & 2

Students in Art 1 & 2 created a basic composition of seasonal pumpkins and gourds. We all started with black paper and white pencil. Then we added color using square chalk pastels. They were challenged by the new media, yet all were very successful.

Letter Illuminations

Art 3&4 started the year by looking back into Medieval Art History.

Using a wax resist technique, we made Illuminated Letters, without the gold of course.

Students had a wide variety of themes throughout their projects.
